Al Randall Roast, Golf Tournament; The Toters Draw Huge Turn-out
An outstanding crowd of over 175 MHISC members convened for the association’s Fall Meeting in Charleston October 20 and 21.
Highlights were recognition of the Retail Center, Salesperson and Community of the Year and a roast of popular member Al Randall. The Toters provided entertainment as the group partied until midnight after all the association’s business was complete. MHISC’s Charleston Chapter capped off two days of events by hosting a golf tournament Friday afternoon to raise funds to support the association’s Political Action Committee. The PAC supports legislators who support the industry.
Five committees tackled the industry’s key issues in innovative sessions Thursday afternoon. Their work led to key decisions by the MHISC Board of Directors at its Friday morning session.

An Evening of Comedy
Popular member Al Randall was roasted by a panel of friends. Derek Blackwell recounted Mr. Randall’s nautical adventures. Ronnie Boyce compared Al’s head to various members and an obscure Sesame Street character. Ronnie Cudd polished his comedic skills at Randall’s expense, Joanne Polston recited a list of observations about Al’s personality and appearance and Clarence Strickland describe Mr. Randall’s early missteps in the business. Al got more than sufficient revenge by singing his interpretation of a Jimmy Buffet song. See the pix
